Save big at Jumping Jeans Consignment 2015 event sale

Updated July 13, 2015

Get ready consignment shoppers in Tampa Bay and surrounding areas, Jumping Jeans Consignment 2015 sale event is back. As a fellow consigner for numerous consignment events, this is my favorite lately. Why? I can sell even my own clothes.

Don't know what a consignment event is? It is a building space converted into a discount retail store for a few days where merchandise: clothes, toys, furniture... are sold at reasonable to unbelievable prices. Consignors (sellers) prepare their merchandise, tag (price) them to earn 65% of their merchandise sold which beats the 40% to 50% they might earn at a consignment store and if they volunteer, yes volunteers are needed as well, they can earn an extra 5% for every three hours volunteered. Of course, I earn the 70%!

Drop off started as of Sunday which continues until Monday. Sutton Hall is getting filled up - one area is maternity wear, infant clothes/accessories and women/ladies clothes/asseccories. The other area has toddler to junior size clothes as well as toys, games, shoes, books... I also saw a bed and a baby changing table. I have included more photos, a few of items being sold starting Wednesday with the public sale until Saturday. There is a private sale Tuesday but only for consignors, volunteers, first time parents and for military.

Jumping Jeans Consignment besides selling children clothes including preemies and baby sizes and toys, they also have added junior's, ladies/women's and maternity fashions. Shoppers will find merchandise for all seasons - used, gently used and even new merchandise to purchase. You might even find school uniforms for your little ones too. The first days are regular price sales but if you can wait or return the last two days and hope the items you liked weren't sold yet than you can save from 25% to 50% off.

The consignment event is held at Florida College Sutton Hall in Temple Terrace starting Wednesday, July 15 through Saturday the 18th. Doors open at 10 a.m. and close at 6 p.m. except for Saturday. Shoppers can save 25% off all merchandise labeled 'Discount: Yes' on Friday and 50% off all merchandise labeled 'Discount: Yes' on Saturday from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.

Ms. International World and Ms. Latin International underway in Orlando

Ms. International World 2014 - Jennifer Rosario

There has been much controversy going on whether Miss USA and Miss Universe will go on as planned. But that isn't hindering other pageants to continue. As for the Ms. International World and Ms. Latina International, the two pageants will go on as planned in Orlando, Fla. from August 13 through the 17th at the Walt Disney World Resort Holiday Inn.

The Ms. International World Organization empowers the contestants in modeling, education and entertainment through a crown. To Angela Posillico, founder and CEO the Ms. International World and Ms. Latina International are more than pageants and beauty. They are a "Way of Life" for young women. Posillico's first pageant was held in 2004 at the Deauville Hotel in Miami.

The candidates will be judged on swimwear, evening gown and of course on interviews. The winners win a major talent contract with MM Model Management in New York, advance to international pageants, professional photo shoots and a cruise to the Bahamas.

Thus far planned for the four day pageant the organization has partnered with the American Cancer Society/Go Pink in which all proceeds from the Women’s Empowerment luncheon will benefit the organization and make women of all ages aware of the warning signs of breast cancer. Furthermore, world class designer of KalaXpress, Sumita Bhojwani, will design the candidate’s attire for this year’s opening of the pageant in honor of the American Cancer Society.

As for entertainment, Alexis Salgado will make her way to Orlando from her west coast tour to sing her newest release "Take me to Paradise." National recording artist, actress and author, Shayne Leighton Machova also joins the pageant to present her latest release "Invincible."

There is still time to enter the pageants and model competition as the deadline is July 23, 2015. The requirements for Ms. Latina International and Teen Latina International are: Latina women with a 25% Hispanic background, ages 14 to 19 for the teen division and ages 20 to 30 for the Ms. division. As for Ms. International World, it is open to women of all nationalities ages 20 to 30. There is also a supermodel division for adult females and teen females that is open to all nationalities, adult candidates must be 5' 6" or taller to enter.

Additional information about the pageant can be obtained at Ms. Latina International website.

Road trip to Sarasota's The Mall at University Town Center

Photo courtesy of The Mall at University Town Center
So I decided to take a short road trip to visit a new mall in Sarasota, Fla. Although it was opened October 14, 2014, I still consider it new since I hadn't been there yet. It's about an hour or so drive from Tampa. I didn't mind the drive since Ellenton Premium Outlets was only 15 minutes away and the beaches were close by.

But anyways back to the new mall, The Mall at University Town Center. It is situated right off of I-75 on University Parkway. But the mall wasn't alone, as the intersection is fully developed with loads of stores, business and restaurants all around.

The Mall at University Town Center depicts Florida's beautiful architecture throughout the 880,000 sq. ft. mall on 73 acres. The two-level mall features about 125 businesses that include renowned stores to classy styled boutiques: Saks Fifth Avenue, Macy’s, Dillard’s, Vera Bradley, Vince Camuto, Michael Kors, TINA Stephans, Jackie Z Style Co., Francesca’s among many others.

And while shopping when hunger strikes don't expect the typical food court. Instead enjoy a fine or casual restaurant setting that even includes YO! Sushi - a Japanese ‘kaiten’ sushi bar that delivers freshly prepared food via a conveyor belt. I opted out on the sushi since I'm not crazy for it but settled for oriental food instead at Mandarin Express. Although the food was warm just how I prefer it, my choice of noodles over rice wasn't such a good choice (noodles were sort of 'greasy' and not tasteful which I sort of resolved with a few packs of soy sauce). If it’s a simple snack or a quick eat your taste palette desires than your choices range from ice cream, baked goods to pizza.

And one last advice upon your arrival, stop by the Customer Service desk located on the lower level near Grand Court for a "Passport to Shopping." It is full of discounts and special offers from select retailers.

Everyone loves a bargain, right?

I know I love bargains for sure. It's Labor Day weekend, lots of sales out there. Well somewhat. I have seen better sales. Some stores have clearance markdowns but today a few didn't have an extra "%" off so I avoided looking through the racks.

But made a quick stop at Goodwill, yes you read right Goodwill. I tend to stop at one whenever I am in their vicinity and most of the time make out good. Today I think I did awesome!!

Alright you tell me if hit or miss:

Black lined jacket by Sag Harbor with tags, yes tags so we know it is new. It looks nice on - the picture does no justice.

Retail $50

Price $12.97

Finally pretty reading glasses, yup I need them. We know they can be pricey.

Price $3.59

Did you shop today? What was your bargain?

An afternoon at HSN: fall fashion, shopping and fun ~~ Una tarde en HSN: modas para otoño, de compras y diversión

 Updated 9/4/14
Many have heard of, seen and most likely shopped at HSNwhich is just a hop and a skip away from me. Alright not quite, it's a drive across the Howard Franklin Bridge from Tampa, Fla. to St. Petersburg about 25 minutes or so away. Having them in our backyard, needless to say, I finally had the opportunity and honor of visiting the 60 or so acre property with other fellow bloggers. What a perfect time - for fall fashion.

The visit started with a tour lead by Cameron Morris of a few of the different studios where each segment takes place from fashion, health and beauty, culinary...

The last stop was at the Fashion Closet and Beauty Bar where we were treated to drinks and treats. A few of HSN's stylists hung out and even a surprise visit of fashion bloggers and handbag designers Kelly Cook and Tina Craig, Snob Essentials. Also to mention, their merchandise is sold on HSN. At the Fashion Closet we were able to try on firsthand some of the fall fashion pieces.

Snob Essential's handbag

But the highlight was actually being behind the set while fashion designer Giuliana Rancic was selling her fall wardrobe, G by Giuliana featuring her Ultra Luxe Moto Jacket and Ultra Luxe Jogging Pant. And to our surprise, we each received a G by Giuliana Draped Front Cardigan in our choice of color: black, midnight blue, charcoal or camel. What color do you think I chose?

As if the fun was just starting, we are all back together at the Beauty Bar, networking and of course eating when we are also presented with a huge goodie bag full of products actually sold on HSN and the rack holding our cardigans was brought out (already mentioned). It felt like Christmas in August!

The evening couldn't end just like that, well it didn't for sure! We were invited to shop at HSN's employee store as VIP shoppers. It was 75% off clothing and shoes, shop until we dropped indeed.

In my writing/blogging ventures I have been behind the scenes of award shows and red carpet events, even worked a few studio cameras but this was a surreal and unforgettable experience. From the drive, sharing our fashion passion with local bloggers, meeting all the people behind HSN from employees to the executives and the president too. Looking forward to future HSN encounters.

Thank you HSN for having us and a big shout out to fellow blogger Farrah Estrella in making the connection. Oh and thank you for the goodies too, I can't wait to show them off!

Check out HSN at www.hsn.com for more information and to purchase their merchandise.

Bloggers y diseñadoras Kelly Cook y Tina Craig, Snob Essentials (credito Farrah Estrella)
