My best friends when it gets chilly out (yes it does get chilly in Florida) - turtlenecks. I always shop for other colors when they go on clearance to replace faded ones or just add to my wardrobe for next year. By the way, my faded turtlenecks I use them as my stay home wardrobe.

I layer my turtleneck with a vest, jacket, scarf, jewelry...

Christian Fashion Week returns to Tampa Bay

Step aside New York, Paris, Miami... Tampa is returning to the limelight with their second annual Christian Fashion Week after a tremendous success last year.

 

Christian Fashion Week is scheduled for Feb. 2 - 8, 2014 at Bayanihan Arts and Events Center, 14301 Nine Eagles Drive. The kick-off on Feb. 2 will feature International Day of Prayer for Art and Fashion where churches, ministries, businesses and individuals will offer prayers for inspiration, creativity, and success for the fashion industry and for other fashion week events. The week will also include workshops, shopping days, VIP parties and a two-day fashion showcase in Tampa, Fla.

 

There are a total of 17 fashion designers selected from more than 60 applicants representing Florida, New York, Jamaica, Dominican Republic, United Kingdom and Europe - Julia Chew, SuMita Bhojwani, Dali Hernandez, Rene Scarborough, Elegantees (Wildy Sanchez, Katie Martinez, and Sarah McPhillips), Bine & Bass,  Vonique Mason, Elaine Grullon, Ricc Rollins, Damaris Rubio, Roy Smoothe, Jonathan Allen, Ronnisha Tolefree, Jessica Rios, Rachel Weathersby, Angel Myers and Medinah Hagan-Morgan. Tampa Bay designers once again selected are Julia Chew, SuMita Bhojwani and Rene Scarborough. The fashion line this year includes bridal wear, menswear, swimwear, Indian fashion and plus-size.
